Ok, I went back and forth A LOT about whether or not to even do this but, I figured since I'm really diving into this whole My Year Of Star Trek thing head first, I might as well go all out. If it flops, that's fine. Buy hey, maybe it won't. Maybe the opportunity to stare at my face for five minutes is just the kind of thing this blog needs. Whatever. It's an experiment.
Also: here's a photo so this post will show up properly in the sidebar. Enjoy!
Great vlog! You should definitely do more of them.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear your opinion on the new Star Trek movies. I've got a love/hate relationship with them where I can acknowledge that they're good with good storylines ... but they've destroyed my Universe. As a fan I was a bit offended by the "do over".
Kellie, Thanks! I appreciate it.
DeleteI actually love the reboot. I think JJ Abrams did an amazing job with staying true to the characters and themes that we love from Star Trek while breathing new life into a series that kind of run out of steam. I really don't look at it as destroying anything because it's not as if all those original series and movies just disappeared, we can enjoy them for years to come.
When Enterprise went off the air, I felt awful. I don't want to live in a world where there's no new Star Trek and I don't even know when to expect more. So, just the fact that the franchise is alive and well, that a whole new generation of fans are coming to the franchise (and subsequently journeying into the existing series) is wonderful.
Awesome! I think this is a great vlog! The way you cut to clips really shows why this post had to be a video one vs. written. Look forward to more vlogs to come!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel like I might try to do more!
DeleteLOVE. IT. That is all.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!
DeleteThis was awesome! Look at you, boldly going! I'm gonna pimp this to Mr. Takei later. And you've inspired me! I'll do a vlog soon, promise. :-) Can't wait for the next one!
